Nigeria Update
The news from Nigeria continues to be disheartening. Our friends in Maiduguri state that while some are returning to the city, others are making plans for permanent evacuation. The city is still under heavy police and military presence, yet the killings and violence are almost a daily fact of life. Not only is the violence in Maiduguri continuing unabated, it is spreading throughout the north as those responsible become more and more emboldened due to the lack of effective law enforcement. The web is reporting, just in the last few days, the bombing of the UN building in Abuja, attacks in Gombe on police stations along with bank robberies, attacks in Bauchi State and retaliatory killings in Jos. Truly, Nigeria as a nation needs our prayers and the saints of God there need His divine protection and intervention. Will you pray with us and intercede on their behalf, especially for our friends and co-laborers, for God to keep and sustain them during these dangerous times?

Fall Outreach?
What does this mean for our normal Fall Outreach in November? Well, for now, I am believing that doors will be opened so that I can at least travel to minister to the brethren in several of the churches with whom we have established a strong relationship over the years. My purpose, of course, is to encourage them and share in fellowship to let them know that they are not forgotten by us even as we know that they are not forsaken by God. I covet your prayers regarding this that I may hear the ‘still small voice' of God and do His perfect will as He leads me.

Sponsoring A Child
I have also been asked by some of the brethren there to help in possibly getting their children to the USA to study as a means of moving them out harms way. If you or your church or organization would be interested in helping with this cause, please let us know via the enclosed Prayer Request or call or email. I really cannot imagine what it must be like to live among such random violence never knowing if you or one of your loved ones, friends, or acquaintances may be the next victim of a random act of violence and senseless bloodshed.

Guatemala Christmas
Our home church is taking Christmas to an orphanage in Guatemala in December. Sarah and the kids and I are making plans to join this outreach to the 50 children there, ranging in age from 9 months to 24 years. We are asking for your help to partner with us to meet the need of this mission as we endeavor to be a blessing even as we are blessed. When Sarah and the kids first heard of the trip their unanimous response was, "I want to go!!" Missions is our hearts!
