Key of Medicine
Packing (in progress)
My flight leaves Saturday, May 14th , for 2 weeks of outreach and ministry in Nigeria. The elections are over and by all accounts have been the best and most honest since independence was obtained in 1960. The Web is still reporting sporadic violence in some states, however, my contacts report tensions easing, peace returning albeit with a heavy security presence. I am asking for your prayers for journey mercies, protection and keeping as we drive through the country and grace and favor with the village leaders who have promised us land in the bush. As far as I know, the team has still not been back to the bush since last fall so pray, too, that we will have an open door to return there. It was February of last year that I was there and we have had very little contact with the villagers since then.
In addition to our clinic outreach, I will once again be privileged to participate in the annual P&M Conference in Jos at the end of the month. This is where we are able to speak into the lives of countless Nigerians all across the country by ministering to their leaders who take back our teachings to their congregations and ministries. We often take for granted the abundance and variety of good Bible teaching that we have access to here in America. Unfortunately, such is not always the case overseas, and what a pleasure it is to see men and women of God giving rap attention, hungry for the Godís Word as we share our hearts with them with what God has given us. I am always amazed at how well all of the teachings from the various speakers complement one another even though we have all prepared separately from each other. But God, who is the author and finisher of our faith, leads and directs each of our steps so that one teaching just builds upon another and another. What an honor and privilege to be part of such a ministry.
As I travel, I once again ask you to pray daily for my well-being and protection. Also, will you pray for peace and comfort for Sarah and the kids who will be left behind with the stuff, holding me up? Thank you for standing with us in this outreach not only with your prayers but also your supplies and finances.
