Key of Medicine
Mission - Nigeria
The visa applications are being processed, our tickets are purchased, we have received some medicines and our excitement and anticipation is building for our Mission to Nigeria, February 17th to March 11th. Sarah and the kids are especially excited as this will be the first time in 3 years that they will be going to Maiduguri to work with the team in the bush. Last year they were not able to go and in 2006 we were prevented from going to Maiduguri due to the violence that was occurring during our visit. So they are not only looking forward to the clinics but to their reunion with our faithful team as well. And this will be the first time that we will be using the new van that I purchased in November which will save us time and money as we travel throughout the country and back and forth to the bush. We will once again be buying most of the medicines that we need in-country for which we are budgeting $1500. However, we will need over-the-counter meds such as Tylenol and Motrin along with anti-fungal creams. In addition, there is still $6900 needed for the expenses of this outreach. Any help that you can give to allow us to meet these needs will be greatly appreciated.
This is also the time of year that we join Rev. Maiwa'azi Dandaura in Jos to participate in the annual Pastors & Ministers Conference the first week of March. I have been invited to share in two other conferences while in-country. One will be with Pastor Freeson in Maiduguri and the other with Pastor Kefas in Bauchi. I have known both of these brethren for several years through the P&M in Jos and have been privileged in the past to share in their pulpits. But the most important meeting will of course be when we join in fellowship with the believers at Yauiri. We need your prayers for all of these meetings but most especially the meeting in Yauiri. We need guidance and wisdom in how to proceed with this fellowship of believers to preserve the unity of the body and witness to the world.
I have been asked to join a team to India this May. While the primary purpose of this mission is conducting pastors' conferences, I will also be meeting with local pastors and leaders to investigate how we can help with medical clinics. I ask for your assistance in praying concerning this outreach for God's perfect direction and provision.
Your Servants In Christ,
Larry - Sarah
